There are bald men, there are bad asses, and then there’s Bas Rutten. Widely considered to be one of Mixed Martial Arts’ (MMA) greatest fighters of all time, the Dutch born warrior is also one of its baldest. From the earliest parts of his career, Rutten, a former UFC Champion who finished his career on a 22 fight undefeated streak, shaved his head completely bald, so it’s hard to tell just how bald he actually would be if he grew it out. That doesn’t really matter though, as the current color commentator (he’s known for is whacky one-liners and awesome insight), coach, and sometime actor is so cool that he maintains the nickname “El Guapo” (The handsome one) without maintaining a single hair on his head. He’s so awesome that if he grew his hair out and it was made of snakes, it would just become the cool thing to do. Rutten also trains actors as well as fighters, most notably fellow baldie Kevin James ; taking him from doughy chubster to doughy chubster that can beat up most people. Rutten is the classic martial arts tough guy: hard nosed, charismatic, talented, and willing to pass on knowledge. He’s like someone you’d make up for a movie, but he’s real, and really bald. Thanks Bas, for making bald guys everywhere feel tough.
