Yul Brynner: Bald Star Of Stage And Screen
Yul Brynner was a Russian born, Academy Award winning actor who set the screen on fire back in the old days. Brynner played a tough guy in films like The Magnificent Seven and WestWorld, but it was the role he originally went bald for, the King of Siam in The King and I, that he is probably best known for. Prior to his role in the popular musical, he had hair, but after shaving it for the part, he fell in love with the look, and kept it for the rest of his 65 years. So yes folks, if you’ve been paying attention, Yul could play the lead in a musical, and play the baddest dude in the wild west. How’s that for diverse? Oh yeah, he also did over 4000 stage performances of The King and I and was given a special Tony Award for his work, boom. There aren’t many people in the history of stage and screen who could share the screen with Mcqueen, and share the stage with a bunch of ballet dancers, and he did it while voluntarily keeping a bald head. Yul Brynner: one of the most diverse bald men ever.
