Professor Xavier: Bald Super Team Founder
When life gives you lemons, start an epic team of super heroes; that’s what I always say. One man who has clearly taken my advice is Professor Charles Francis Xavier, or as the masses know him, Professor X. Bald for most of his adult life (it’s usually assumed that his nuclear level psychic abilities made his hair fall out), and confined to a wheel chair after some nasty scuffles with some super villains, he could have quit life, collected disability benefits, and spent the rest of his days sulking. Instead though, he chose to go and start up the “X-Men”, a team of Mutants (humans who are born with super powers, Xavier’s psychic ability is the result of his own mutants status) tasked with protecting the world from any threats it may encounter, and bring about world peace in their spare time. Professor X is also a world renowned genetics professor (by “world”, I mean comics), and all around powerful guy in his universe. He has also been played on-screen by Patrick Stewart and most recently James McAvoy (although McAvoy has hair in X-Men: First Class). Professor X is a great example of how someone can succeed despite baldness, and that you don’t need hair to be a hero.
Patrick Steward – Stalwart Bald
If there ever was a bald to make bald men proud it is Patrick Stewart. He makes bald look good. As Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the Starship Enterprise, in an X-Men movie, in any old stage or movie production, even wearing pansy tights in a Shakespeare play, he is comfortable and bold with his bare top hairstyle. He has that regal bearing.
